Expectations are sky-high for the Utes this season with a number of returning starters coming back on both sides of the ball.
For the first time in program history, the Utes were not only picked to win the Pac-12 South Division, but were also picked by media members to win the Pac-12 championship game this year.
In the annual poll at Pac-12 Media Day, the Utes (206 points) were the overwhelming favorites to repeat as Pac-12 South Champions, ahead of USC (167), UCLA (118) and Arizona State (118), which finished second and third respectively.
The Utes received 12 votes and were picked to win the Pac-12 Championship over Oregon (11) and defending Pac-12 Champion Washington (9).
Since the conference started, the media has correctly selected the Conference Champion 31 out of 58 times.
